BbWorld '07 (July 2007)
Facilitated a pre-conference workshop on using Web 2.0 technologies in your WebCT/Vista course. Here's the session's description:
This session you will see how non-programmers like you can easily use your Blackboard Learning System – Vista or CE License as a launching pad to open and expand your course to what the ‘net can offer. By using tags and RSS, you will see how easy it is to copy and paste a few lines of text and incorporate dynamic content from free web services. You will also learn how you and your students can continually contribute to your online environment by sharing progress on group projects (Twitter), adding valuable resources (del.icio.us), commenting on photos (using Flickr) – all inside your course.
Also co-presented a session on UBC's Professional Development Plan to Support a Vista Migration. Here is that description:
The University of British Columbia launched a migration project in September 2006, moving the campus in stages from the Blackboard Learning System – CE Enterprise License (Release 4.1) to the Blackboard Learning System – Vista Enterprise License (Release 4). Success of the ongoing migration depended on two key objectives: engaging the teaching and learning community in a diverse professional development program and weaving pedagogical approaches into technology training. Presenters will detail the important ingredients for the success of their program and demonstrate selected resources. [more]

To highlight key differences, the session will open with a demo of the same course in both Vista & WebCT CE 4. In the hands-on portion of the workshop, you will gain a basic understanding of Vista’s tools and components. You will experience an online course as a student and as an instructor/designer while exploring the fundamentals needed to get you started! [about]
